NSAA Rule Changes

This past year, member schools in the Nebraska Schools Activities Association made changes in several rules involving junior high students and high school students. In class D-1 and D-2 Volleyball, junior high student managers can now practice with the high school team.

The NSAA approved this same thing for ALL classes in boys and girls basketball; however, it failed to pass in wrestling.

A rule was also passed allowing junior high students to practice at the same time as high school students in both cross country and trach & field.

The main reason in allowing junior high students to practice with high school students in volleyball and basketball is to allow schools with low participation numbers the ability to still scrimmage.

The main reason to allow junior high and high school students to practice at the same time in both cross country and track & field is to allow schools with the same coaches for both to operate one practice instead of two.
